After meeting Sally Hershberger on a shoot several years ago, and hitting it off instantly, Jo-Anna Lynn became Sally’s personal makeup artist and is now based at Sally Hershberger Downtown. Adored for her natural, flawless approach to makeup, Jo-Anna also creates gorgeous custom brow designs for her clients taking into consideration their individual bone structure, shape of the eye, and brow texture.
Jo-Anna landed her first job at a local hair salon in New York before deciding to further her knowledge of make-up application by studying at the M.G. Westmore Academy of Cosmetic Arts in Los Angeles. Upon her return to New York, she apprenticed under many famed make-up artists, including Kristofer Buckle, before moving to Paris to gain experience from “the masters” and immerse herself in French culture. Jo-Anna worked throughout Europe for 6 years, booking high profile jobs in London, Italy, Germany and Greece. Jo-Anna’s experience has allowed her to create a portfolio of amazing beauty, fashion, commercial and celebrity looks. She has worked with countless industry heavyweights such as famed photographers Patrick Demarchelier, Gilles Bensimon and Antoine Verglas. Jo-Anna has created looks for celebrities such as Beyoncé, Elizabeth Hurley, Erin Wasson, Helena Christensen, and Kristen Bell and her commercial clients have included Estee Launder, Maybelline, Revlon and Calvin Klein. Jo-Anna’s work can be seen in publications such as Marie Claire, Elle, W, Harper’s Bazaar and Lucky.
