Judy Mar
Judy Mar began her styling career in the city she has always called home when she started taking clients at Oribe in 1998. Within the creative and highly competitive salon world of New York City, she established herself as a stylist to be trusted, capable of delivering results clients treasure for consistency and easy-to-manage care.
As a freelance stylist, Judy has built an impressive résumé of fashion shows, editorials and advertising campaigns. Her work has been seen on the runways for Nicole Miller, Patricia Field, Vera Wang and the Victoria Secret Christmas Show; the pages of Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, Elle, Glamour, In Style and Pregnancy; and ads for Macy’s and Clinique.
As a two-time Emmy Award-winning stylist for Elizabeth Hasselbeck and The View, Judy understands the extreme daily demands placed on clients’ hair, and she tailors each look to the individual lifestyle and hair routine of the client. By studying the client’s hair texture and quality, in addition to face shape and hairline, Judy chooses either a wet or dry cutting technique best suited to the client. This ensures that not only will the style grow out beautifully but also look great even if the client cannot blow it dry everyday.
In 2004, Judy joined Sally Hershberger Downtown before moving north to the new Sharon Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger in early 2009. In addition to haircuts and blow drys, she also is available for Japanese straightening and relaxers, keratin treatments, updos, and wig and hairpiece styling. No matter which specialized service Judy’s clients require, they leave her chair transformed.
