Ryan Trygstad
Ryan Trygstad has defined his career by producing hairstyles that possess the intense perfection required for print and film while creating flawless looks that remain fresh and of-the-moment. His devotion to research, finessed good taste, and perfectly skilled hand make him a faultless choice for fashion, beauty, and film.
Growing up in Michigan, Ryan was introduced to hairstyling by his aunt. After graduating high school, Ryan enrolled in Aveda's famed beauty school, and soon became a young master of hairstyling. Ryan rose up the ranks, and began teaching within the school, while simultaneously enrolling at the Illinois Institute of Art, to study Fashion and Accessories Design.
Ryan always knew he belonged in New York City, and soon the desire became too strong to ignore. He made his move, and immediately began working at the acclaimed John Frieda Salon. In a short time, he began assisting, hair legend Sally Hershberger.
Ryan's cut and styling talent is in a class of its own, but he has also become widely known as one of the top experts in hair extensions. He has worked with top photographers including Annie Leibovitz and Brigitte Lacombe to create stories for editorial clients such as Harper’s Bazaar, InStyle, Vanity Fair, and Vogue.
Prime was Ryan's introduction to the world of film in 2005, where he was responsible for designing and executing hairstyles for the film’s star, Uma Thurman. Since then, he has produced hairstyles for the films Inside Man, My Super Ex-Girlfriend, and the upcoming In Bloom. His celebrity client list also includes: Sandra Bullock, Sienna Miller, Kate Winslet, Gretchen Mol, Nicole Kidman, Joan Allen, Donna Karan, Jessica Lange, Marcia Cross, and Jodie Foster.
Ryan recognizes the unique education he is cultivating by working with these icons of beauty, fashion, and moviemaking. His flair for collaboration, creativity, and easy-going charm are the perfect ingredients for continued success.
