Though her signature coloring style is low maintenance, natural, and down to earth, Sharon Dorram's glamorous clientele seems to defy her approach. Sharon has worked hard over the years to build her A-list roster. After graduating from Bennington College in Vermont, Dorram followed her love of the arts at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and Winchester School of Arts in the United Kingdom. Sharon's eye for color and her artistic background led her to train under Louis Licari in the late '80s. This was followed by time spent with some of the most prestigious stylists in the world including John Sahag, Oribe, Frederic Fekkai, and Peter Coppola.
In the late '90s Sharon joined the team at John Frieda and was named a Creative Consultant for the brand. While working at the esteemed salon, Sharon formed a friendship with stylist to the stars, Sally Hershberger. Nearly fifteen years after meeting Dorram and Hershberger have unveiled their much anticipated joint venture, Sharon Dorram Color at Sally Hershberger in New York City. One of the most buzzed about beauty partnerships of the year, the dynamic duo will offer the crème de la crème in color and cuts.
Dorram creates a look as natural as a child's hair, but adds a dynamic edge to it, constructing an eye-catching and remarkable design. She is a master of blending style with timeless technique, and is an artist at creating just the right shade for everyone who sits in her chair. Whether it is the perfect baby blonde, a deep mahogany brown, or a fantastic cedar red, you can spot Sharon's signature look from a mile away.
Sharon's well-known roster of clients grew exponentially after she colored Barbara Streisand's hair years ago. Word quickly spread and Dorram rose to red carpet fame with her distinct approach to hair color, artistic background, and relatable character. Sharon's opulent yet understated looks have attracted the tresses of celebrities such as: Renee Zellweger, Kate Winslet, Kate Hudson, Uma Thurman, Sarah Jessica Parker, Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan, Marie Louise Parker, Nora Ephron, Heather Locklear, Gretchen Mol, Reese Witherspoon, and Rachel Weisz.
Sharon Dorram currently resides in New York City with her husband and children.
